BIG Problem......

Hey guys i have a 99 auto, and recently when im driving on the highway at around 55-70 if im on the pedal on a consistent amount like lets say half way down my acceleration will start to go down, its like im not even on the pedal.. i'll be driving and it will start to sputter going 55-75 if im steadily on it and this sux xuz ill be on the highway going like 55 and my car wont go anyfast unless i floor the gas pedal.. i read somewhere that it could be something with the pvc valve or something ? any ideas need help asap.

Are you throwing any codes? Any vacuum leaks? You mentioned the PCV valve...did you check/replace it? How bout your plugs/plug wires? Have you checked/changed them at all.

Any CEL lights on? I think you may have a clogged fuel filter, or maybe bad 02 sensors....

I know it sucks when the car does weird shit but its kinda a hit or miss thing as to whether someone reading the post knows how to help.

Is it sputtering at a certain RPM or just a certain speed, i would go see what happens with the car in neutral and listen for a vac leak.

60k miles, just starting yesterday and today it feels like wheni press on the gas its like it doesnt have full power until like 2500-3000 rpm then it sorta kicks in... spaarkj plugs are like 10k miles on em cleaned upper intake, throttle body, iac all that lil stuff. i dunno whats wrong. im pretty sure theres no vac leak, i guess ill check that even tho i think its not it how do i check ?

Without knowing codes that may be thrown, I'm thinking fuel. Fuel pump, fuel filter, or fuel pump relay module (it's in the trunk).

Had sort of the same problem except the car would "burp" at odd times when the fuel pressure went down. If I floored the car and triggered a WOT cycle, the fuel pressure would go back up.

Turned out the fuel pump relay module in the trunk was going. Replaced it and the problem went away. Found one in a salvage yard for $20. Ford wanted $102...

i had the same problem and it ended up being the spark plugs.

i changed mine about 10 miles ago...so i doubt its that.... im ordereing a new set of high flow cats see if that will help and how do i check for vac leaks ?
