im tired of the T5. its weak, noisy, and hard to shift. what other manual transmissions fit our cars? how about the tremec 3550/TKO?

the 3350/TKO/500 and 600 will all fit our cars with the right bellhousing. if i was you i would do a 500 or a 600 they have the right speedometer sensor in them already.

The T5 in the 99+ V6's aren't bad at all. They are world class spec and will handle 335 lb tq and those figures are roughly 10% underrated.

Mine's doing just fine and I have no plans on replacing it until it breaks, then I'll just go with a G-Force gearset.

the 3550 isn't that great of a trans anyways. I hear a lot of people having problems with them having synchro's blow out.

The t-5 isn't all that bad, especially our world-class ones. A good clutch/shifter combo with some clutch accessories make it a somewhat fun trans to use. I enjoy driving mine when I beat on it, but can be a little PITA during normal driving.

If you think a T5 is noisy and hard to shift do NOT Get a 3550/TKO/500/600 or whatever. They whine a good bit and are very notchy compared to a T5. I put a 3550 in my 5.0 and which I just got a geforce (but I was cheap). I've driven a couple other cars w/ TKO's and they are really notchy.

Good luck in getting a G-Force gear set. I am among MANY people trying to get replacement gears. Some dealers are trying to get entire gearsets and have been waiting for over 4 months without an answer on when/if...

G-Force has shifted its focus away from the T-5 market.

G-Force has shifted its focus away from the T-5 market.

How can they do that? You can't tell me it isn't profitable especially for their prices...not that it affects me since i don't have a T-5 *gently rubs it in* :baby:
There are other options for the T-5 folks aren't there? Pete was using Liberty i beleive.

I love my T5, granted it's only got 45k miles on it. Can't comment on the longevity of it, but when new I think they are quite nice.

Tony at Astroperformance is getting set up to make his own gear sets even better than the ones G-force was putting out ,so there is an alternative in the works .

That would be cool especially if its not as whiny as G-force i've heard.

It's going to whine some, even the helical whine a little ,thats just the aftermarket gear set If you don't want whine stick to a stock T-5 .

Nope...no T-5 for me. Never going to a 5 speed again. hehe. If my T-56 ever breaks which would mean i'm making a good amount of power :headbang: i'll close my eyes and spend the $$ for the aftermarket Viper/5.0 T-56 which is pretty much indestructable and rated (conservatively) for 650ftlbs.

Yup. I have no complaints with my old TKO except that it made some gear noise.

Yes, with modification because your 95 uses a different speedo setup than 99 and newer.

My tremec 3550 was hard to shift past 6500 rpm and notchy as hell.
