Ok.. I have notices the last couple of days that when I get home from work and pull into the garage my engine ticks (like a rocker tick or something) for a few seconds and then stops. It's more of a tapping sound / tick and it is definately related to the RPMs - if I slightly rev it in the garage I hear it for a second and then it's gone again. any ideas? It's brand new - 2001 with about 1,000 mi on it. Oil level is good. Should I take it into the dealer or is this a normal sound?
Thanks!

I noticed my car doing the same thing. I notice it more when i first start going but once the rpm's get past a certain point I don't notice it anymore. I have a 99 with 20,000 miles on it. Can someone help?

Park with the drivers side next to a building. That's when I notice the same sort of sound the most. However I also notice it when driving at about 2200 RPM. I've had it in to Ford numerous times. They replaced lifters, rocker arms etc. Finally they said, must be the fuel injectors and that it was a normal sound. I had a regional manager write and sign a paper to the effect that the noise was checked and that it was not a symptom of a improper condition which might cause a problem. I figured that and the tickets from all the times that Ford worked on it is about as good as I can do if something serious goes wrong later on.
