has anyone ever heard of it
supposedly does some kind of freezing and makes parts much stronger and harder
people use it for any rotating parts like tranny gears, cranks etc
I heard it from a Nissan guy
i wanted to hear or see if anyone heard about it here?
and if so is it worth doing?
something we can do to the 4.2 cranks

Perhaps you are thinking of "Cryogenic hardening" ?
we have not had a crank fail yet so why fix something that works or throw another variable into the mix.

x2
is there something i dont know about? i seem to be seeing more posts about what we can do to strengthen are crankshafts here lately.
something like this will prolly be important after we find the breaking point of our stock cranks.
but since it's posted. anyone know how much more durable a crank becomes once these other cars use this technique?

Off topic, but why weren't you at mod vs rod?

I think the shop over here told me around 20% stronger.

clutch slips above 5k RPM's. wouldnt be worth my time to race.
tried it once it is like having no top end. cause everything you do after the launch is above 5k RPM's. and with that happening best i did was 13.4@108mph or something around there. which is what i ran in this car over 100rwhp ago.
got my new billet steel flywheel in and will order my RAM clutch here soon.

why not really?
ive never heard of what your talking about but im sure its very similar
others have used it and its worked
if i can make it stronger why not?
i dont or wouldnt wana wait to break the 4.2 crank just to see what it can handle.
then restart
