SteveC isn't doing them anymore (which sucks since
I was forwarding people to him and now they're
asking me again who else can make them), so I'm
considering getting them done at a shop in town.

We've gotten an f150 rail to work with 99+ intakes
but this time I'd like to use maybe a 99 rail
and just charge core (that way people can hunt
down the rails for me images/smiles/icon_wink.gif ) and throw in an AFPReg.

Suggestions? Thoughts?

Go for it. Copy my design and perfect if you like. You can email me if you want particular information. I will give you the "patent" information for you to use. images/smiles/icon_smile.gif

There were several reasons I got out of doing them. First was the countless of numbers of emails of those interested that committed to the point of "sending" money which I never got so I was stuck with parts to make them and no buyer. I ended up only doing them with at least half up front. Second was those looking for me to do them "a cheap one" and then complaining about them. Or those who came back later critiquing how the first rails were made when at the time no one really knew what was all involved including me. Or complaining about no schrader valve when there was no way to keep one on a 99+ rail. Third- there were several I actually lost money on after I spent the time getting parts, travel and shipping expenses. This is what really got me- I was selling them at basically no profit and people acted as though I was a shop making something that would be basically "manufacture quality". I was a guy making them at my kitchen table.

I guess I had one too many of the, "why" questions when I was basically doing the buyer a favor of making them. I started getting more cost effective, but there is little profit for too much aggrivation. I had school at night and family so I had hardly no time to be doing the rails for basically not a dime.

And there are other reasons also, but I wrote enough.

i made it from a 99 rail and a 94-98 rail

i took the 99 rail, took the sensor off the top, grinded that plate off, and MIGed the hole shut then grinded it smooth, then i drilled a hole in the side of it

i took the 94-98 FPR block, cut some of the extra brackets and stuff off of it, cut the 3 steel tubes off, MIGed two of the hole shut and grinded them smooth, then drilled another hole and enlarged and existing one

then i brazed the two blocks together-ground off all that chrome so the braze would stick

then i brazed in a tube for the return line

that corner was the only part i modified. i'm running a hose and a stock style return fitting over to the inlet fitting

i should have the rail finished monday or tuesday, waiting on some special clamps to come

hey justin not sure if you did this already, im sure u did and i havent looked on my car to verify it, but have you measured/looked at where that frp sits to see if it extends down to low and hits something?

What I will probably do is take a 99 rail, order
a new fuel return fitting, an AFPR and make it
look like a 94-98 rail (taking into account intake
clearance of course). There's a shop in town that
I'll actually be having do it. The problem I see
now is where to get rails cheaply so I'm not
having to charge an arm and a leg for these.

If you can get a reasonable price, I'll be the first to buy.

This is what I wanted to do at first. I thought that there may have been a chance to kind make the rear of the 94-98 fit on the 99+. The only problems are that the upper intake, and the stock metal coolant(heater core)line is is in the way. I like the way that Justin's turned out and from what I looked at tonight, it shouldn't have any issues with the upper intake. As long as the FPR sits far enough away from the upper.

Forgot, Steve was selling them for $250.

$250 with the universal adjustable regulator.
$175 with a stock style (non-adj) regulator.

Are you still selling the Modified fuel rail w/the universal adjustable regulator? I'm looking to do the split port swap.
