I'm going GTR on saturday 11/9. They are going to install:
Lowering springs $120
Bullitt shocks/struts $70
Underdrive Pulley $50
Spark plug wires $25
So it come out to be $265. This is a good price right?

Except for the fact that you could easily do all that yourself, for essentially free.
Why not spend the $265 on tools and have something to show for it? All of those items are more or less trivial to install with a friend and a 6-pack.

Screw GTR...they won't stand by their work or their product. Also, why the hell are they charging you double on shocks/struts AND springs? That can all be done at the same time (ex: like gears and T-loc). So bring your anal lube cause you're gonna be hurtin.
WHy not just get a couple of friends together and make it a weekend project?
Shit...if you need help w/the spark plug wires, PM and I'll freakin help you and you can save $25. You are gettin gyped...

Um actually it IS their fault for not standing by a product that has a lifetime warranty...it just shows they will take your money but won't back up their product images/smiles/icon_rolleyes.gif . The fact that I PAID them to install them as well as purchased the struts/shocks from them gives good cause for my unsatisfaciton.
Don't waste your time with GTR...they like any other shop if not worse. Why not save your $ and do it yourself and learn something in the process.

you just had one bad experience bro, sorry. GTR is a good shop bro, go for it. You decide when you get there for yourself

I would do it my myself, BUT I don't have ANY tools, nor friends that know about cars to help me, nor the time to do it.

I disagree...there are a thousand places that could do the exact same job for less; including doing it yourself. Again, $190 to install springs and shocks/struts is rediculous. Why again are they charging you DOUBLE for one job?
Do a search on the suspension board, how many times to they tell you "do them both at the same time to SAVE ON LABOR". Not do em both at the same time and pay double.
I infact could overlook that fact that GTR put me in a position to pay for a job that I'd already paid for them to do, but when Gonzalo says "Hey, why don't you buy some caster/camber plates from us and we'll inspect your strut for free when we install them C/C plates.." is extremely crooked and extremely insulting.
With a complicated installtion like a blower or a cam or heads; maybe these things can be overlooked because you do need expertise. But, in simple applications like plug wires, springs etc...don't waste your time with these clowns.
That's all...I'm not gonna speak on the subject again; and I'm not going to give my business to GTR again either.

If you spent that $265 on tools instead of throwing it out the window, you'd have every tool you need to get the job done and some extras.
You could have all of that installed in an afternoon. You can't tell me you don't have a single free afternoon.
There are all sorts of people on this board from SoCal. I bet if you asked nice enough any one of them would help you out.
You could do it yourself if you wanted. It's *really* easy.

That's right. I don't trust my myself with fixing up the car. Plus my dad payed half for the car so he does even want me to put things in the car. He want to go to the experts. Plus I don't like to ask other people to help in install stuff for me. Unless it there job. images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif But thanks anyway!
I have been looking around and GTR is best price I have found. Other shops are changing $400+.

Dude, you have the worst logic I've ever heard...worse even that Ericks images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif . Why again did you even ask the question if you already know it all? People try to save you time and money and you argue. I bet Ford loves it when you come in for that $75 oil change...cause that's a "big mod" too.
I just don't understand this whole thing with asking quesitons/opinions and then arguing with the replies you get. Just spare us the formality.
And Erick, you are in no position to tell me to "hush up already" when you are the leader in repetition , as well as a part of the aforementioned group. Mmmmk...great. images/smiles/icon_razz.gif images/smiles/icon_wink.gif images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif images/smiles/icon_eek.gif images/smiles/icon_confused.gif images/smiles/icon_mad.gif images/smiles/icon_rolleyes.gif

All I really wanted to know if I was getting a good deal or not and there was a cheaper place to go to! That it! Althought I like when people on the messageboard try to help me, but I ask if it was a good deal!

i went to GTR to have my UDP installed. it was a pain for them because my crank was at the upper end of the tol and it wouldn't go on at first. they sent people out to find special bolts, tools etc and after about four hours it was in. it was not thier fault my v6 had a tard crank. even after all the sweat and time and extra work the intallation fee was the same about 50 bucks. they are good people and although we haven't met yet so is erick as is all the stangers here. i don't post much but i read. i'm going to have my 3.73's installed there because i trust thier work and integrity.
peace images/smiles/icon_cool.gif
