I dont have any problems with my car reving so high but i dont understand why it does. When im racing(i have an 97 4r70w)
i shift the gears myself, well as much as i can but i dont hit a wall till about 5500 rpms instead of the supposed 5100 rpm redline our engines are supposed to have. I dont have a chip either. My car runs better when i rev this high although its not making any more power. Ive noticed nearely .3 second gains in quarter mile times when i shift myself instead of letting the car shift itself at like 4900. I thought my tach might be off but i have an aftermarket one too that reads the exact same. Ive got my gtech readouts of rpms vs time graphs if anyone wants to see those if they know anything the tach or crap like that. Im just trying to figure out why my car shifts so high. Also, one last thing. In the past couple weeks since its cooled off down here in texas ive noticed that my acceleration between 3000-5000 rpms has nearely doubled. Is that just because of cold weather. I was hidding 7.65 0-60's unlike my normal 8.0-8.1s. I know this is badly written but all help would be appreciated

Do you have a VTECH sticker? Honda guys think that helps. HEHE
Anyways. I have a 5spd and I can shift at about 5300-5400. Probably not much help.

I know on 99+ cars peak power is reached at 5250 RPM (wich is where the redline starts) however the reve limiter isnt till 5600 rpm
