okay guys, ive been sitting back and reading and now ive got some questions...

what is a timing adjuster? does it have anything to do with underdrive pulleys? can you get one for a 3.8?

as of right now, i have an ideal settup for waht mods i want to make...

underdrive pulleys
alluminum drive shaft
cold air intake

all of these are things that will not only increase rwhp but will increase gas mileage, right? so, with dual exhaust, what kind of hp rating would you think i could make with these mods together? sorry if you hear these kinda questions alot...

alum driveshaft wont add any hp just reduce the percentage of hp lost through the drivetrain

soo from 193hp with all of that

205-207hp

might see a slight increase in gas mileage

i think giving him hp at the wheels would be more accurate...

so probably in the 165-176rwhp range (193 x .85 = about 165, + 7rwhp from pulley and 4rwhp from alum ds, assuming that both mods add to peak rwhp)

actually it will be less accurate because you are multiplying by a percentage but anyways

Instead of putting the alum driveshaft at 4rwhp just make it decrease the percentage lost to the wheels so instead of 15% hp lost make it 14%. Get what I am saying?

Drivetrain loss as a percentage is only usefully for stock apps. It is not a fixed percentage as power output increases. The amount of parasitic loss on a stick and auto has been calculated to 35 hp and 39 hp respectively. That equates to %18 and %20 of total output but this does not mean that the drivetrain will always take up that percentage of power. Unless something in the drivtrain changes, the parasitic loss will be 35 and 39 hp.

Basically, it is an adjustable "gear" for the 4.6. Allows the owner to make came adjustments.
